We have been settling very nicely into our lives here in North Carolina and have been busy exploring and enjoying all the things to do and the beautiful weather to do them in. One particular spot that has become a favorite is Oak View Historic Park. It’s ten minutes from the house, free and features historic buildings, beautiful gardens and goats. It’s the perfect place to let a two-year old run wild. We headed over as a family this weekend to collect pecans that fell in their expansive grove. I had big plans to collect my bag and then make a pecan pie. Ahahahahahaha! I was delusional. While it was a novelty to collect them I’ll be making any pies from pecans I buy! Or better yet, maybe I’ll just buy the pie itself 😉 Another reason for being out and about besides spending time as a family, I wanted to take advantage of the crisp fall weather and finally changing leaves and get some fall portraits of Evie. I love what I got. It’s never easy photographing your own child, but we had some fun with the leaves and (big shout out to my husband for taking direction in using my camera) I even got to be in some photos with my daughter. This is my favorite time of year and I am obsessed with the color and light. I’ll definitely be getting out there soon for more photos and if you want photos of your own family with a beautiful fall backdrop, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
