I was excited to head back to Homewood, this time to capture the Holiday Lights Festival. I was not as excited about the temperature, 12 degrees made for a very chilly, challenging shoot. Luckily for me the people of Homewood were not deterred by the weather, and despite the bitter chill the atmosphere at the festival was warm and cozy. There was an incredible amount of things to see and do, Santa, reindeer, ice skating rink, tree lot, trolley rides, bon fires, antique automobiles decked out for the season, live music, hot beverages, and beautifully decorated windows. The permanent and pop up shops stayed open late offering refreshments and a warm place for festival goers to warm up, socialize and get some holiday shopping done while supporting local merchants. I was honored to be part of such an inviting event, full of the magic of the season. If you live in the Chicago area you need to make a trip to Homewood. You’ll wonder why you didn’t visit sooner 🙂
And lastly, my favorite. It could be better technically but I had to hurry to capture the moment. In perfectly keeping with the season a friend spotted another and knocked on the window leading to this perfectly sweet and joyous moment. I wish everyone a holiday season as full of excitement and wonder!
