We just returned from a whirlwind 36 hr trip to Massachusetts to partake in a 5 generation photo. The trip was well worth the travel snafus and exhaustion and I will be sharing that photo soon. I have not been to New England in years and we couldn’t have had better weather (high 50’s) or more gorgeous scenery. The fall foliage was in full swing and the leaves were still on the trees. I was like a kid in a candy store, my fingers just itching to get my camera out and take advantage. I got my chance and was able to take some absolutely beautiful photographs and get in a few myself in a little patch of woods by my great grandmother’s nursing home.
I just look at these photos and I can’t stop smiling. I love everything about them, they aren’t just portraits, they’re memories. I will look back on these and always remember the occasion that made it possible for me to be capturing these images. I’ll remember the light through the tress, the warm chill in the air, and the realization that Evie is really growing up, able to sit on her own and so aware of her surroundings. It’s incredible to see and I’m loving every second, the meltdowns are worth it for this grin.
