Arkansas Adventure: Buddy Bear

I was really looking forward to visiting my brother and sister-in-law to see their dog Buddy.  I hadn’t seen him since the very first day he came home when he was shy and quiet.  Over the past couple years I’ve been entertained with stories of Buddy’s antics (chewing up porches, barking at pumpkins).  He is the goofiest dog with the best expressions. I <3 him!

He was so sweet with Evie and put up with us crazy humans for letting Evie sit on him and grab his ears.  Evie loved him too but she’s not a huge fan of a dog licking her face when the tongue is the SIZE of her face.

I mentioned Buddy’s expressions, how amazing are they?

Buddy had a play date while I was there.  Don’t worry, no dogs were hurt in the taking of these rough housing photos.

Poor Evie, getting licked left and right.

Buddy really is the sweetest dog.  Evie woke up at 4:30am one morning and Buddy got up with us to make sure I had everything handled.  He waited till she finished eating and went back to sleep.  Then he waited till I got back under the covers, walked up to the side of the bed and leaned toward me to “tuck me in” make sure I was good and then went back to his own bed.  Awesome!

He also really amused Katie and I while simultaneously pissing Will off. In a french farce situation that had him getting in the backseat of the car, getting out of the backseat, entering the front passenger side through an open door and before Will could get him exiting out the open driver side door.  Perfection!

We ended our weekend with Buddy with a car ride to the dog park.  He wasn’t too sure about sharing his space with Evie.

He got used to it though.
