Every year we go to the Glenwood Arts Festival. We love it — it’s free, it’s in the neighborhood and there is always good food, good drink and great artists. Last year I had to miss of on the Champagne Slushies so I was especially looking forward to this year. We got a little carried away in buying handcrafted artisan items for miss Evie but what are you gonna do? She has no clue and we’ll tone it down from now on. She is going to look adorable in her fall pumpkin hat and that’s worth it. She is becoming much more aware and is showing a preference for things she likes. At a few booths we showed her stuffed toys to see how she’d react. She was unimpressed by whales and giraffes but immediately reached out for this weird little green toothy monster. At another booth we showed her an adorably soft and quirky monster and she flipped out, arms reaching, squeals of delight, amazing! Never has she reacted like that before. Easiest sale they made all day I’m sure. So our little Evie has no use for the mundane, she likes the weird and so I present, Evie – Princess of the Monsters!
