I did not make the list this week for “Small”, but I love entering each week though, it keeps my brain thinking creatively and the fact that I blog it every week keeps my posts somewhat regular and usually gives me the opportunity to blog about other events I may be behind on. For example, on April Fool’s Day this year a good chunk of extended family descended on Ohio to surprise my grandparents with a joint 80thbirthday celebration. The surprise went off without a hitch and no heart attacks! It was really amazing, they were truly surprised and touched to see everyone that was able to make it, coming from all over the country. My grandfather is not a man that shows emotion and to see him tear up a bit was really moving.
It was an incredible weekend filled with food, drinking, laughing, and . My sister and I were obsessed with our cousin’s morkie, who is pictured in my entry this week. Small dogs get a lot of flack, but I love terriers, they may be small but they don’t act small!
It was wonderful to spend time with family and to get some great images in the process. Seriously, how cute are these two?!
We also got to reminisce, my sister and I took a walk up the street to our old house where we lived for four years in the 80’s. It has not aged as well as us 🙂 It’s got a bit of an Amityville vibe to be honest. How very interesting and a little bit sad to see how things can change for the worse in what seems to be such a short time.
And how they can change for the better too. I feel like my already close family gets even closer as the years go by and how we all connect and have more in common the older we get. I feel very lucky to have the family I have and can’t wait till the next time we are all able to get together.
