I knew just what photo I wanted to use when I saw the theme “Tasty”, I took it on our “World Tour” at Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival, aka The Happiest Place on Earth! It was on our stop in Japan and I just loved everything about this photo. Then the events of last Friday occurred and I was worried that to send it in would be disrespectful, and would be viewed as “Yay Sushi!” in light of everything that has happened. Japan is beautiful though and strong and I think it’s important to remember the positives of a place, almost especially when it’s in the midst of a disaster. The photo was chosen as an honorable mention and can be seen on the redeye site, #6.
I’ve been to Japan and loved, loved, loved it — I have always dreamed of going back and it’s a place that my husband has always yearned to go. He has a great interest in Japanese art & history. This is a terrible time for Japan, but I believe they will come through it, any other thought is inconceivable.
In the meantime we can help. My friend Jacs has a link to The Red Cross donation site on her blog, Bloggin N Joggin. As an animal lover and devoted pet owner, I have to mention that there are many lost or involuntarily abandoned pets that need help too, you can find out more here at The Animal Miracle Foundation.
