I woke up earlier than I needed or wanted to on Sunday. So I settled in at the computer and turned on the tv when I noticed this incredible golden orange light filtering through the window and when I looked outside it seemed like the beach was aglow. So instead of telling myself maybe next time and passing on the moment, I grabbed my camera and headed into the cold and gently falling snow. I was pleased to discover I was not the only one to have the same idea. I took several photos loving the landscape and how the light made it seem like a different world. Eventually I had the beach to myself and I enjoyed just standing there watching the waves crash on the icy shore, watching the end of the sunrise. It was exhilarating really, to take the time to enjoy something I typically take for granted. I don’t normally do New Years Resolutions, but I think I will this year. I resolve to enjoy the moments more, to not let stress and life and routine distract me from the fleeting moments that make all the stress and routine worth it.
